Will it be possible for U.S citizens to travel to Europe? Yes!

The EU is planning to introduce a digital green certificate in June. The certificate will prove if the traveler has been vaccinated or has recorded a negative test result. The list of countries outside the EU that will be able to use the green pass is updated every two weeks and can be found here


Are US citizens allowed entry? Yes

From June 17, entry is allowed if the following is met:

  • Proof of vaccination. Currently, only the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are accepted.
  • A negative COVID PCR test was conducted within the 72 hours prior to departure or a negative COVID antigen test was performed within the 48 hours prior to departure. 

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

Visitors flying from the U.S can now enter Italy for all reasons including tourism. Commercial flights are also now available. If the following is met:

  • An Anti-COVID 19 vaccination certificate for an European Medicines Agency (EMA)-recognized vaccine. 
  • A medical certificate confirming recovery from COVID dated no more than six months before departure.
  • A negative molecular PCR or rapid antigen test result carried out within 48 hours of departure.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

Effective June 7, vaccinated U.S. citizens can travel from the United to Spain if they present the following documents upon arrival.

  • QR code generated through the Spain Travel Health portal, obtained through the website, or by downloading the SpTH app in Google Play or App Store for each traveler.
  • Vaccination certificate showing they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 more than 14 days before the flight to Spain.

From July 25, travel from the United States to mainland Portugal is currently permitted for travelers with proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

  • A negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) is required for entry.
  • All travelers who are eligible to enter Greece must complete the online Passenger Locator Form (PLF)
  • Fully vaccinated visitors from the U.S. can enter Greece without a PCR test if they present a vaccination certificate.

Effective July 1, 2021, travelers who reside in the United States are exempted from Sweden’s entry ban.

As of June 20, 2021, residents of the United States are allowed to enter Germany.

  • A negative COVID-19 test is required to enter Germany. Both PCR and rapid antigen tests are accepted.

When will Norway’s borders open?
There has been no official update, and currently, Americans are being advised not to travel to Norway. This, of course, might change when the green pass has been introduced.

When will Finland’s borders open?
Although Finland has started to let countries in for leisure, the US is not currently on the list and there isn’t a time scale as to when the states will be added.

Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? Yes

  • A negative PCR test must also be uploaded to the portal. Also, once you have been in Nigeria for 7 days you will have to register and pay via the portal for a retest.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? No

Arriving U.S. passengers are allowed entry if the following conditions are met:

  • The passenger does not have a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F); 2) The passenger does not have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing, or other flu-like symptoms; 3) Also, the passenger has to provide a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test conducted within 96 hours before travel. 

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes.

  • A negative test result within 72 hours before arrival is required. Passengers not meeting this requirement will undergo testing on arrival at the airport.

All travelers to Senegal over the age of two years must present a negative result, taken 5 days before entry.

  • Travelers are required to present negative COVID-19 PCR test results dated no more than five (5) days from their arrival date in Cote d’Ivoire.

  • Travelers age five and over must undergo a temperature screening and COVID-19 test conducted at the airport.
  • The test will cost a $150 fee per person and must be paid online before departure at https://myfrontierhealthcare.com/Home/Ghana. Proof of payment must be provided to the airline before boarding.

  • On arrival, travelers will need to present a negative COVID-19 test result no older than 72 hours from the time of departure.
  • Travelers will be screened on arrival and those emitting symptoms will be required to remain in quarantine until a repeat COVID-19 test is conducted.

ASIA

Travelers who want to visit Asia will find they will have to adhere to a mixture of travel requirements, from quarantining in government-accredited hotels to screening on arrivals. As Japan is expecting a fourth wave of the virus there isn’t any official information when the borders are likely to re-open.

  • All travelers vaccinated outside of Korea must still quarantine for 14 days
  • Passengers arriving in the ROK must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result obtained within 72 hours of their departure.

Travelers must have formal written approval from the Malaysian Government before attempting to enter.  With travel warnings against flying to Malaysia and no updated news, there is no time frame on when the borders are likely to re-open.

  • The Indonesian government has put a foreign and domestic travel ban in place. Depending on the outcome the travel ban may be lifted.

MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA

Algeria and Morocco are not yet ready to welcome leisure travel. However, Qatar is set to open its borders from August 1st. If you are planning to visit Israel, then you must apply for a visa. Lebanon is allowing U.S tourists, and those who can prove full vaccination will not have to isolate.


To enter Tunisia, you will have to mandatory quarantine at a government-selected hotel. Whereas Iran, Turkey, and Egypt, only require a negative PCR result. As it stands, UAE is not currently on the free list, which means travelers arriving at Abu Dhabi will be subject to a quarantine period of ten days.


Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? No

  • United States is considered a “red” country by the Government of Tunisia and U.S. citizens will not be permitted to enter Tunisia unless they also hold Tunisian citizenship or a valid Tunisian residency permit.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

  • Quarantine for five days at a hotel of the government’s choosing at a cost of 33,000 dinars. Travelers must complete a COVID-19 test at the end of the five-day period.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Limited entry

When will Morocco’s borders be open?

  • Beginning June 15, 2021, travelers will be permitted to enter Morocco with a vaccination certificate or a negative result of a PCR test administered within 48 hours of the date entering Morocco.

Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? Yes

  • A negative COVID-19 PCR test result within 96 hours before departure must be confirmed.
  • As the US is not currently on the free list, those arriving at Abu Dhabi may be subject to wear GPS tracking bracelets for the duration of the quarantine period – typically ten days. 

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

  • Travelers over the age of 2 must provide a negative PCR result. The test must have been conducted within 96 hours before arrival. 
  • Visitors when undergoing the mandated health screening on arrival, who demonstrate COVID-19 symptoms will be subject to a 14-day quarantine.

Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? Yes

  • Passengers from all locations may be required to go directly into Government of Israel-established quarantine centers for 10-day isolation (with 2 tests) or 14-day isolation.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

  • Travelers landing at Sharm El Sheikh are allowed to arrive without a PCR test, subject to taking the test upon arrival. Those who take the test on arrival will have to quarantine until the test results are confirmed.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

  • Beginning July 12, 2021, Qatar has announced that it will expand entry beyond Qatari citizens and residents.  The new travel policy requires travelers to register prior to travel.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter Turkey? Yes

  • A PCR test is required
  • If a negative PCR test within 72-hours of boarding their flight has not been submitted- travelers will be required to quarantine where they planned to stay.

  • Unless travelers can prove testing positive for COVID-19 more than 15 days before arrival, or proof of full vaccination before arrival.

INDIA & ISC

Indian is currently suffering a new wave of covid and has temporarily banned tourism. However, the borders of Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka remain open. In addition, once a negative test is proven on arrival, you can enter Pakistan without having to quarantine.


Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter India? YesAs of February 22, 2021, all international travelers arriving in India, regardless of vaccination status, must upload a negative RT-PCR report to the Air Suvidha portal taken within 72 hours of the start of their journey.

From May 5, all inbound travelers to Pakistan will be required to take a Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival at the airport. If the test comes back as positive, passengers will need to self-quarantine for 10 days.

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter Bangladesh? Yes

  • Passengers arriving from the U.S will have to quarantine for 14 days.
  • Bangladesh is currently operating a travel bubble with countries put into groups.

  • All international travelers must quarantine for 10 days.
  • A Negative PCR test obtained within 72 hours before departure is required. Children under 5 are exempt from this requirement.
