With Jill Hartzell’s help, they raise funds in the US, which are spent on the development of the village.

Projects of Good Samaritan Malawi

GSMalawi is a non-profit organization running a number of diverse programs and projects.

Clean Water

Jill Hartzell - ASAP Tickets Supports This Malawi village still follows a very traditional way of life. Only a few households have pipes, clean water, and electricity. The majority of farming land in the village had been in poor condition for a very long time. With Good Samaritan Malawi’s help, the villagers had purified water for the first time. Now they have clean drinking water which has reduced illness. The water was also used in the re-fertilization of the land and the planting of hundreds of trees and crops.

 Education & Training

Another important investment of GSMalawi is five new nursery schools, for orphans aged 3 to 5. The schools teach life skills and hygiene, and also provide support for young mothers. They also address the medical and health issues of the children.

They teach the children English to prepare them for further studies. Healthy and nutritious meals are provided daily. The most talented children get support to find scholarships for their academic ambitions.

GSMalawi provides important support for teenage girls. They teach girls how to handle marriage and pregnancy from a young age. Successful entrepreneurs mentor the girls in weekly vocational training. This involves discussing physical, emotional and spiritual maturity.

GSMalawi also goes one step further when it comes to rural development. Through an agricultural training program, they teach families organic planting methods. This program enables villagers to develop their farm and provide for their families.

Stories of Success & Hope

Customer stories - ASAP Tickets Blog

Justyna’s mother died from AIDS when she was 14 resulting in her father abandoning the family. This left Justyna to raise her seven siblings. In 2002, GSMalawi directed her to one of their schools. After her graduation, she provides for her family by teaching Microsoft Office classes.

Reuben grew up in a family of five other children, three of whom died from AIDS. This led him to a dream of becoming a doctor. GSMalawi offered him a sponsorship so he could continue studies and even go to London. Reuben did become a successful doctor and is now able to provide for his siblings and his own family.
